Founded On Honesty, Growing With Integrity!

Our Story

Prior to 2005 Joe worked in the public sector. He soon tired of the wasted time and inefficiencies. He also saw a need for an affordable “customized” post frame building which the big companies were unwilling to provide. So in 2005, he started what became Cover’s Construction LLC.

It was just Joe doing what he did best, any type of construction or remodel you could imagine pertaining to a home or acreage. His first machine was the iconic green Lull Telehandler which is still going strong and is one of his favorite pieces of equipment. Over the years he had a handful of hardworking guys helping to build post frame buildings and many other general construction projects.

Joe is known for building high quality post frame buildings and Barndominiums. The business has grown much bigger than Joe and his boys. There are now 2-3 full time crews and Cover’s takes on almost any project. With over 20 years of construction expertise and building design, Cover’s is now the comprehensive resource in central Iowa for any type of construction or remodeling.

We are proud of our crews and the jobs they complete with perfection. Our motto has always been Founded on Honesty and Growing with Integrity. Because of this we have an incredible customer base with referrals and repeat business. We place importance on the individuals working for us and for you our loyal customers.

We specialize in helping you visualize your project, walking through the maze of permits and legalities, and bringing that project to life.

Meet Joe & Laura

Joe and his wife Laura own Cover's Construction, LLC. They have 5 children, 2 of whom are now married. They are also enjoying their grandbabies! They are committed to operating the business by treating customers the way they themselves prefer to be treated. They understand that their employees are their biggest asset and value them accordingly.

Joe and Laura are very active in a wide range of community and kingdom building activities. Laura volunteers at a pregnancy crisis center and has a passion to help others achieve their potential. Joe is committed to helping those in need and serves on several nonprofit boards.

Joe enjoys anything mechanical. He wants to know how it works and why it doesn’t when things go wrong. This has been invaluable in all the projects he’s taken on.

He has been around equipment and construction his whole life. He started out in the tree removal/logging industry and has seen wood in all phases; from a growing tree to lumber used in one of the many projects and builds he has managed. Since growing up around the industry he has the uncanny ability to look at a potential project and see in his mind most, if not all the steps from beginning to end.
